Idol In The Ground
The Paris rain it fell in mourning On the almost holy ground And the broken glass and black graffiti Everywhere you looked around It was a strange and awkward meeting He wore his issue army green He'd just flown in from England He was visiting on leave
There I stand in Pére Lachaise Light a candle, sing it out Some kind of music in the air There's an idol in the ground
Are you here cause of their music I said "In truth, I must admit I read 'No One Gets Out Alive' And I know most of their hits I'm here almost by accident With my last Metro ticket" But for him it was a pilgrimage He stood quiet for several minutes
He said "Could you take my picture And I'll take yours if you like" So that's me, and that's the Lizard King Under grey Parisian skies If I had a sense of history I would think it all profound A soldier's mission over And an idol in the ground |

Room 118
Ya, I know what's coming You're gonna tell me how I don't fit into your plans It seems that no amount of loving Gonna get me to that place where I'm your man I'd like to turn around, go back two years When you were knockin' on room 118
Not quite reality But more than a dream There were no guarantees But you had the keys I was falling to pieces When I had to leave If only that's how life could be Like Room 118 Like Room 118
I still got the film, you raised your eyebrow Did a turn, and still the mystery Sitting on the sidewalk, I was barefoot I was shy, but I was listening To a voice I knew from long ago You had accent from the city you know
Fastened up the seat belt As the jet began to roar Destination Canada But left behind a part of my soul |

When You're Not Around
Heat lightening in the sky A storm comes pounding in Messing up my fortress Just the way you did On my kitchen table there's a coffee stain Where you were sitting down I gotta say it's haunting me There's way too much of you And that's when you're not around
When you're not around All is calm and there's no rush When you're not around It's simple and it's not It's dark, I'm reaching somewhere But I know I'm falling off I see the warning signs But there's too much to love
Well all your last impressions They remain there in the drive I might have a chain link fence But you get through just fine It's yes, and no, and I'm not sure It's hard to find that line I'm just a word or two away From falling off the edge Another time
Melodies consume the atmosphere And it's been several days since you were here |

Impossible Looks So Good
I've been trying, I'm not getting far There's no arrival in this love mirage It's a beauty, but traveling's hard Another mile or a hundred, I'm no closer to you And that's the truth, I'm quite a fool I go on, forever thirsty With a lot of sand in my shoes
I sent a letter where I poured it out Till I' was drained and the ink was gone This and that, and this and that I wrote You know the story, doesn't move you like it used to before And that's the truth, I keep trying but I can't break through The whole things gonna kill me Someday, probably soon
But whatever hope I got I gonna keep it The up and down, the on and off, I need it You provide that gentle pain As only you can do I'm faced with the impossible But your impossible looks so good
And then the moment that I've given up I'm thinking "Time to turn it off" A bit late, but you never miss Coming in, just a short little message from you And that's the truth, all that misery fades And if lasts just a day or two At least it takes the edge away |

More Emptiness (La La La)
There's a reverb in my voice More like loneliness you know That how goes La la la, la la la Sometimes I do feel sorry But I didn't have much choice Ya that's for sure La la la, la la la
After you there just more emptiness But no surprise, I know the feeling well
From here to there to everywhere The places I avoid And still you're there La la la, la la la Melancholy paint by numbers Different shades of grey I brush them in La la la, la la la
Thought I'd found a place where I belonged That expired didn't last too long The space is filled the moment that I'm gone The heartache poetry in me continues on |

Hmmmm. . .why is it that your reviews are all from women? There must be some truth to the notion that there is something in your voice that draws them in irresistably. Then again, it could be the sensitive lyrics, melodic vocal lines, dead-on harmonies, and solid guitar playing. I suppose that you could want more than that when you're listening to a song, but I can't think of what it might be .... |

"That was another Life" At first : I love your voice and its not out of tune! It seems that you are working hard on your songs cause I know thats quite different to make with a real guitar music and record then into cubase. Wish to hear more from you :) Kris. |
