I started writing this song one night at 11pm, and had the recorded version finished by 5am. It was a good nights work, I was really proud of this one at the time, considering it was made up of parts from three different songs I hadn't finished writing.
The song is about a dream I had one night about the end of the world, and me and this other girl were two of the few people left alive, and we had to travel about on my scooter finding out what happened to everyone. |

This is one of my favourites, I wrote it the same week I wrote 'Wasting A Day'. It's really just about the same thing, not dwelling on the past... I think. I remember it was a cloudy day, and the sun just came out, and started creeping in through these velux windows I had in the ceiling of my living room. There was a line in the bridge that went 'breathe in the water...' and Mike misheard it as 'breathe underwater...' which I thought was ten times better, so I changed it. |

This song was written for a dear friend of mine, she loves eskimoes, and I wrote this song as a sort of tribute to her. It's the first song I ever wrote on the piano, an instrument I really can't play at all. Once I've learned how to play it properly I might re-record this, but for now you'll just have to put up with my crummy playing! |

The title actually came from one of those visualisations you get on Windows Media Player, I just thought it was a really nice name, and that it'd make a great song title. I suppose if I had to put my finger on it, this is about only being happy when you think about being with someone you want to be with. If that makes sense. |

Wasting A Day was written in May 2003, in the living room of my old flat. I was going through a prolific period and had written about eight songs that week. I never really liked it when I wrote it, but it grew on me. I think it's got some nice lines in it. The song is about an ex-girlfriend of mine, but in the sense that I was trying to get over her and failing. It's also about not living in the past, and how it's a waste of a day to dwell on things you cannot change. |
